We are two women passionate about kayaking—and also SUP boarding—who rent kayaks, canoes, and SUP boards in Outokumpu. Our business began from our own hobby and the idea of sharing both the activity and the equipment with others. Melontakaverit is formed by a partnership of two sole proprietorships: Kaks'kajakkia tmi and Kajakki Kaisa tmi. The business names were registered during the "best paddling weather" of December 2018.

Our operations began in Outokumpu in the summers of 2019–2021. In 2022–2024, we also operated in Liperi, and in 2023–2024 in Heinävesi.

In summer 2026, our activities will be focused in Outokumpu.
