12-LAKE ROUTE – Särkiselkä Area

Suitable for: Canoes, kayaks, SUP boards
Duration: 4–6 hours / full‑day or overnight trip
Start & finish: Särkiselkä, Kaunisniemi Café Beach

A popular and varied route equipped with clear trail signs. Includes short portage sections between lakes. Along the way you'll find:

  • Shelters and campfire sites
  • Cooking shelter & kota hut
  • Toilets
  • Children's Fishing Oasis

A scenic choice for beginners and families.

TAIPALEENJOKI → VIINIJÄRVI

Suitable for: Canoes, kayaks
Duration: approx. 3 hours (downstream, easy paddling)
Prices: Kayak €40 • Canoe €50

Start: Viiniranta Boat Ramp, Viinirannantie 19
Finish: Kompero Local Heritage Museum Beach, Kontkalantie 33

We deliver equipment to the starting point and meet you at the finishing point.

Transport: €1/km (equipment amount does not affect price)
Example: 30 km delivery + 30 km pickup.
If equipment must be retrieved separately (e.g., from Rikkarannantie 37): + €30

Paddlers must arrange their own car at the finish to return to the start.

RIKKAJOKI & RIKKAVESI

Location: Selänsuu, Rikkarannantie 18
Suitable for: Kayaks, SUP boards
Requires sufficiently high water levels.

From Selänsuu beach you can paddle toward Rikkavesi — we are happy to provide tips for longer excursions.

Rikkajoki (2 hours)

A calm, sheltered and picturesque river — perfect for SUP boarding, especially on windy days.

Transport: €1/km round‑trip regardless of equipment quantity.
Self‑transport is also possible.

JUOJÄRVI – Pitkälahti • Pitkäniemi • Laitasaari

For experienced paddlers
Juojärvi's wide open waters can be unpredictable, but beautiful Laitasaari lies near the entrance of Pitkälahti with a relatively short paddling distance.

At Laitasaari:

  • Hiking trails
  • Swimming spots
  • Tent and shelter overnighting (temporary stays allowed)

Transport: €1/km
Example to Pitkälahti: 40 km + 40 km (delivery & pickup)
If gear retrieval is needed from Rikkarannantie 37: + €30

Equipment can also be transported by yourself.

TUUSNIEMI HARBOUR PADDLING ROUTE

Length: up to 19 km (shorter versions possible)

You may transport equipment yourself (car roof or trailer).
Weather conditions must be considered, especially for the full loop.
